4 original drawings & poems
Born from the quiet moments of ordinary beauty that meet us in hard seasons.Â
The Inspiration
When we find ourselves in chapters that feel hard at every turn, it seems there is something beautiful that waits for us right where we thought we’d never be. Somewhere in-between letting go of how things were & welcoming in what’s next, there is a quiet kindness in the discomfort of these hard seasons. It’s here in the most unlikely of places that true love & joy can find us & offer us a home - a place at the table to cry & laugh & be enough even when what used to makes us, us seems far off. At the root of this collection is this mysterious belonging that finds us in the quiet, uncomfortable moments of learning to be loved right where we are.
“At the Table”
The Poem
It’s okay
to fall apart
to take life at the pace it’s asking you to take
to feel the ache of tapping out of the race
Because when the old is gone & the new is yet to come
something beautiful is offered as we’re being undone
It’s in these quiet moments that a feast awaits
where the times alone, turn into a belonging greater than ever to be known
where a seat always waits, one that feels like home
open to all, rain or shine
come eat & the bread & drink the wine
- Liz Campbell
“Togetherness”
The Poem
It hurts
to wake up in the middle of trying to survive
to realize the things you once loved are now a hope passing bye
But in the grief of being here
the heart breaks open & welcomes something near
A kindness
hidden in the sweet side of pain
reminds us we don’t have to have it all together to be loved
That is, we don’t have to work & earn & try harder to be enough because love doesn’t need us to be anyone but loved
So on the days you feel broken & wonder if you’ll ever make it through
remember there’s always a place waiting here to come home to
-Liz Campbell
“A Moment to Enjoy”
The Poem
It’s not just in the excitement of fun
or the rush of adventure where goodness comes
It’s in the small and quiet things
The moments where we see nature flourish almost effortlessly
When nothing changes in a day yet, all the sudden we look up to see
the green has gone orange and the baby birds are out of the nest & flying to new trees
And it’s in these quiet things that we are reminded over & over… love is not there, but here
Not waiting for us to get better but sitting & growing with us, little by little
Blooming along side the hurt that holds us while we heal
-Liz Campbell
”Coming Home”
The Poem
When what was is no longer & what will be is not yet seen
There is a deep dependence,
An ache, a need, as we watch what once was begin to leave
It’s there that love waits for you & me
In the form of a hand that reaches out
An embrace that says,
“I love you.
in the lostness…
& in the sadness…
& even when things don’t look the way you wanted them to be.”
Because it’s here in the changing of scenes, that He invites us to dine in the middle of grief
To have a place to call home right where we thought we’d never be.
-Liz Campbell
A Note From the Artist
Thank you so much for being a part of this collection. Jesus has brought so much light into my life through drawing & writing and I hope you get to experience even just a taste of that through this art.
